Today in class, we talked about Theoritical and Experimental Probability.
Theoritical Probability
Red 1gumball 10%, Yellow 2 gumballs 20%, Green 3 gumballs 30%, Blue 4 gumballs 40%
Favourable outcomes/Total Possible Outcomes
Experimental Probability
Red 11/100, Yellow 15/100, Green 25/100, Blue 49/100
Favourable outcomes/Total Possible outcomes
What Happens
The more you get experiment the more closer you get to Theortical probability.
Next we were given a sheet that talked more about probability. It was called "Which Italian Insects Often Fall in Love?" Here are 3 questions that I choose numbers 2, 4, and 6.
#2. Find the probability if you spin the spinner once.
a) Probability (even number) = favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 4/10 = 2/5
b) Probability (odd number) = Favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 5/10 = 1/2
c) Probability ("A") = Favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 1/10 = 10%
#4.
If you roll a regular 6 face die 1200 times, about how many times would you expect to get a 4?
Favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 1/6 = 0.1666 *100 = 16.666%
#6.
Find each probability if a raindrop falls on th tiles.
a) Probability (falling on black) = Favourable Outcomes/total possible outcomes = 9/25 =0.36 * 100 = 36%
b) Probability (falling on white) = Favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 16/25 = 0.64 * 100 = 64%
c) Probability (falling on green) = favourable outcomes/total possible outcomes = 0/25 = 0.0 * 100 = 0%
For homework we had to finish the "Which Italian Insects Often fall in Love" work sheet.
For next post I choose Angela. So I'm done and could everyone please leave a comment and tell me how I did. Thank you!
