Mean
the mean is when you have a set of raw data and you arrange them into ascending order.
After you add all the numbers in the set of data and you divide it by how much numbers there are.
an outlier will mess up the mean.


Median

the median is the middle number of a data set after being put to ascending order.
when you have to middle numbers you add up the numbers then divide it by two.


Mode

put the numbers in ascending order
the mode is the most common number in a data set.
you can have more than one mode in a data set.


Range

put the numbers in ascending order
subtract the smallest number from the biggest number

Mean - the average of a set of data
To find the mean:
1. arrange in ascending order (optional)
2. add all data together
3. divide the sum of all data, by how many pieces of data there are
4. the final result is the mean
if you have an outlier it will change the mean

Median - the number in the middle of a set of data
To find the median:
1. arrange in ascending order (IMPORTANT)
2. cross out one piece of data from the left, then the right, then the left, and so on, until you reach the middle number
3. the final result is the median
if you have an even number of data, you'll end up with two middle numbers, so you need to find the middle of those two numbers (sum of two numbers, divided by 2)
if you have an outlier, use the median, instead of the mean, to find the average



Mode - the number in a set of data, that appears the most
To find the mode:
1. arrange in ascending order
2. find the number that appears the most
3. the final result is the mode
sometimes there could be MORE than one mode
sometimes there is NO mode



Range - the difference between the greatest and least piece of data in a set
To find the range:
1. arrange in ascending order
2. find the greatest and least piece of data
3. subtract the least piece of data from the greatest piece of data
4. the final result is the range
